About the author: Beverly Rowe holds a PhD in American history. She has taught for ten years at the college level and is currently professor of history, sociology, and anthropology at Texarkana College in Texarkana, Texas. She is the author of A Representative History of Local Hospital Development – Wadley Hospital, Texarkana (Mellen, 2002).
