About Franklin Silverman

About the authors: Franklin H. Silverman, PhD, is a Professor of Speech Pathology at Marquette University, Milwaukee. He received his PhD from the University of Iowa. He is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the author of 15 professional books and approximately 150 journal articles. Dr. Silverman has promoted the development of services for speech-impaired children in 12 countries, including Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. Robert D. Moulton is the dean of the College of Education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. He received his PhD in Speech and Hearing Science at Michigan State University, and has specialized in the education and rehabilitation of the deaf and in speech-language pathology. Since the early 80s, he has been active internationally, helping to establish and improve programs for deaf children and adults. He has completed projects in China, Mexico, Jordan and the Gaza Strip.
